History
Decades ago, Cocoa Village was established by fishermen and developed by the fruit industry, setting the foundation for its success. Originally known as Indian River City, the town's lengthy name was deemed unacceptable by the U.S. Postal Authorities, resulting in various stories about how its current name came to be.
