Featuring a vast collection of over 350 artifacts spanning the 17th to 19th centuries, visitors are immersed in the world of seafarers and pirates, gaining insight into their lives, work, battles, and quest for wealth. Among the unparalleled treasures on display are a desk from the 19th-century wooden battleship USS Ohio, ship-building tools from the Jones River Shipyard, the Dunn & Elliot Sail Loft, and artifacts from the British East India Trading Company’s operations. The museum offers a comprehensive exploration of pirate culture featuring weaponry, ship figureheads, and shipwreck artifacts. Rotating monthly exhibits feature Black, Barbary, Female and Asian pirates, just to name a few.
